Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama kicked off the 2026 cookie season Thursday with drive-thru sales at ServisFirst Bank in downtown Montgomery and at its East Montgomery branch on Halcyon Park Drive, offering a full range of cookie varieties and a chance for girls to learn business skills.

Hundreds of Our Little Miss Pageant contestants faced hotel room shortages when the Renaissance overbooked and moved some to another downtown hotel — prompting safety concerns as organizers work to secure accommodations for those scheduled to stay through Monday.
