- ➤ Vicki Lammon, owner of Vicki’s Lunch Van, died Tuesday after a battle with cancer. Her restaurant on Coliseum Boulevard has been a local gathering spot, and plans for a celebration of her life are underway. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery Whitewater in partnership with Lakeshore Foundation will host Everyone Can Skate on Saturday, March 7 with two adaptive skating sessions from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering specialized equipment and support for skaters of all abilities and a scholarship for youth 18 under. - ➤ Montgomery District 4 Councilwoman Franetta Riley is hosting (Neighbors and Flavors), a food drive that offers fresh produce from local farmers to residents. The effort supports local wellness by improving access to healthy food. WSFA 12

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Owner L.J. Walker of BTA Tutoring has organized an ACAP Testing bootcamp for local students to prepare for upcoming assessments. The session will offer focused tutoring as a practical resource for students needing extra help. WSFA 12
- ➤ The Alabama House Education Policy Committee advanced a bill on Wednesday that would require schools to enroll proficient students in an advanced math pathway leading to Algebra I in middle school and college-level courses in high school. - ➤ Prattville Elementary School launched the Read and Ride program to combine movement and reading into the school day. The school received a $5,000 donation from Whataburger to use stationary work bikes for sensory breaks and classroom rewards (school officials explained). WAKA 8
