EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery Public Schools will host a special education job fair tomorrow to recruit educators for its special needs program, aiming to fill important teaching roles in the district. WSFA 12
- ➤ Legislators approved a bill on Wednesday that would allow homeschooled students in Alabama to join career-tech programs offered by public schools; the legislation will take effect in the 2027-2028 school year provided students enroll as nontraditional public school students and pay fees (as charged to public school students). - ➤ Gov. Ivey signed a law today that limits electronic screen use in early education programs statewide to help young children focus on learning. WSFA 12

- ➤ After defeating Mars Hill Bible 76-56, the St. James Trojans secured their spot in the 3A Girls State Title Game. They will face Mobile Christian on Friday at 12:30 as Kaitlin Mitchell led scoring with 30 and Natalie Barton added 17. WAKA 8
- ➤ The Southside-Selma Panthers beat Whitesburg Christian by a score of 62 to 60 to secure a spot in the AHSAA 3A Boys State Championship Game, with Ar’Mari Town scoring 19 points and Caeden Moody adding 14; they will face Montgomery Academy tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. WAKA 8
