ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery firefighters battled a house fire on Saturday at a home in the 2800 block of Plum Street near the intersection of Ann and Highland—smoke and flames were seen from the one-story building with no one inside as the cause remains under investigation. WAKA 8
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 20-year-old Millbrook woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault after she allegedly stabbed 24-year-old Beyonce Scott at about 2:10 this morning on Sweetwater Drive during a domestic dispute—paramedics treated Scott for life-threatening wounds to her legs. WAKA 8
- ➤ A security guard (contracted with the Alabama Department of Corrections) is facing multiple drug charges. WSFA 12
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, crews are checking damages from Saturday’s severe weather that left thousands without power and forced road closures across central Alabama—Montgomery County reported the closure of Troy Highway due to downed power lines. In Pike County, a tornado damaged the Troy Recreation Center and local homes while no deaths have been confirmed in Alabama. WSFA 12

- ➤ A retired doctors bill in the legislature could soon let more doctors offer free medical care—an effort aimed at expanding access—and lawmakers will consider the measure in upcoming sessions. WSFA 12
