- ➤ Faulkner University will host its second annual Jazz Fest featuring its own band and local high school groups; the event is free. The YMCA will host its Miracle League baseball program for special needs individuals from April 4 through May 23. WSFA 12
- ➤ Business owners, realtors and advocacy groups gathered downtown today to celebrate and learn about plans for revitalizing Main Street, as local leaders discussed steps to boost business in the area. WSFA 12
- ➤ Brantwood Children’s Home will host its annual Kickball Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, Apr. 18 to raise funds for the children in its care. The event supports the home's ongoing programs. WSFA 12
- ➤ Vicki’s Amish Traditions in Millbrook is hosting its annual Amish Meet the Maker event this spring to showcase handmade furniture and home décor. The shop (2865 Hwy 14) offers custom pieces and financing options for authentic Amish craftsmanship. Elmore Autauga News

- ➤ Comedian Leanne Morgan will bring her 'The Time of Our Lives Tour' to Montgomery Performing Arts Center with two shows on July 24 (extra show at 7 p.m. added due to high demand) and July 25; tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. WSFA 12
- ➤ Local organizers released a weekend guide detailing events from today through March 29; the lineup includes themed celebrations like Cowboys, Cuisine & Competition, Lights, Laughs & Leprechauns, and Roars, Rides & a Little Pixie Dust aimed at engaging community members. WSFA 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ McKee Middle School hosted Dare to Dream Career Fair where students engaged with local businesses to learn about job options and see how companies operate. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery Public Schools hosted a job fair on Mar. 25 for summer feeding program positions to help ensure students receive meals during summer programs. Local job seekers had the chance to apply for upcoming roles. WSFA 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery Regional Airport officials are asking community members to drop off pre-packaged snacks, bottled drinks, or gift cards for 31 TSA employees working without pay during the partial federal government shutdown. TSA staffing remains normal at the airport while officials work to show local support. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery County, the City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department, and Town of Pike Road have launched an online survey to shape a new parks and rec master plan. Residents can offer input on playgrounds, sports facilities, trails, & events to boost local neighborhood quality. WSFA 12
- ➤ Governor Kay Ivey announced the $60K grant to AUM on Thursday to fund a law enforcement training program that will teach new investigative techniques and build expertise among local officers—helping reduce crime and boost community safety. WSFA 12
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery native Jessica Barnes lost her father to bile duct cancer and is pursuing a master’s at Alabama State University (ASU) to study tobacco smoke’s link to the disease. She will present her research Tuesday at the State House during Cancer Action Day hosted by the ACS Cancer Action Network. WSFA 12
- ➤ Alabama midwives and freestanding birth centers are asking the state Supreme Court to reverse a ruling that forces hospital licensing standards + could close centers for low-risk births. Facilities remain open as the legal challenge continues. WSFA 12
