- ➤ Cahawba held its bicentennial celebration on April 5 to mark the 200th anniversary of American Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette's visit to the State Capitol — an event that highlights the town's rich history. WSFA 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last week, the House passed the Recovery of Stolen Checks Act—letting taxpayers replace stolen IRS checks with direct deposit instead of waiting for a paper check. Rep. Sewell said the bipartisan bill also boosts law enforcement’s ability to prosecute check theft. Alabama Daily News

- ➤ Riverwalk Stadium is being renovated this season with new safety netting for fans and an updated batting tunnel scheduled for completion by April 11.
