- ➤ Former Alabama lieutenant governor George McMillan died at 81 on April 19th; born in Greenville, he served in the state House before becoming lieutenant governor and later started the City Stages music festival—Gov. Kay Ivey said she would lower flags to half-staff once funeral arrangements are made. WAKA 8
- ➤ The family of Joseph Lee Pettaway filed an appeal last week after a federal judge dismissed their lawsuit against Montgomery following his 2018 death from a police dog bite while working on a maintenance job. Lawyers claim the city’s policy prevented officers from giving first aid & argue this practice sets a dangerous precedent. AL.com
