- ➤ A diverse group of local veteran service organizations have joined forces to form the River Region Veterans Coalition to support military veterans in Montgomery. The group will hold its next meeting on Monday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Feast Buffet — located on Atlanta Hwy in Montgomery — to build a unified network of public and private support. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two bills that require smartphones and tablets to automatically enable content filters for minors will be considered by the Alabama House after passing the Senate last week. Senate Bill 186 sets a June 1 effective date for devices and Senate Bill 187 mandates age verification for app downloads—both carried by Sen. Clyde Chambliss. Alabama Daily News
- ➤ Today, Montgomery held a ceremony to honor its emergency communications team during National Telecommunications Week, presenting awards for Dispatcher, 911 Operator, Supervisor, and Administrator of the Year and celebrating the graduation of new operators.
