- ➤ Hyundai celebrated 20 years since its first car was made at the Montgomery plant with a Family Day event that featured food trucks, inflatables, and live music by notable performers. Officials said the celebration highlighted the plant’s role in creating over 4,000 jobs and adding over $5 billion annually to the state’s economy—achievements that benefit local businesses. WSFA 12
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A father and his son, Curtis London Sr. aged 37 & Curtis London Jr. aged 19, were charged with capital murder after Jamahl Jackson, a 36-year-old Montgomery man, was fatally shot around 4 a.m. Sunday on Highland Avenue & Hall Street and both are held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, a community mural titled 'That We Shall Someday' was unveiled at Montgomery's Freedom Rides Museum to honor the 64th anniversary of the Freedom Rides—four surviving Freedom Riders attended the ceremony featuring historical remarks and songs. The museum is now closed for a new exhibit expected to open this summer—outside, a restored 1957 bus is on display. WAKA 8
