ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ 21-year-old Huntingdon College graduate Aidan Doss died when his pickup truck left the road and struck a tree early Sunday, May 10 on Lee County Road 95 near Gregory Glen Road — two miles north of Auburn — after investigators said he was not buckled. WAKA 8
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson delivered the keynote address at Tuskegee University's 2026 commencement ceremony yesterday, celebrating the achievements of graduates at the historic campus. WSFA 12
- ➤ Alabama Education Association praised the Montgomery County Commission on Friday for upholding the one-cent sales tax that supports Montgomery Public Schools and helps maintain essential daily operations. WSFA 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Alabama Department of Transportation has begun an I-85 resurfacing project on Sunday evening from Ann Street (Exit 3) to Eastern Boulevard (Exit 6) with lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and the project will finish by Fall. WSFA 12
