- ➤ Montgomery Habitat for Humanity will hold a home dedication ceremony on Wednesday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. at 832 Millard Fuller Drive for the Mayo and Foxhall/Scott families. - ➤ The Shoppes at EastChase hosted its first farmers market on Saturday morning even though rain fell, and visitors bought fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs and plants. The market will run every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon—until September 15. WAKA 8
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred last night near Jackson Hospital on the 2000 block of Locust Street — the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and details including the victim’s name and age have not yet been released. WAKA 8
- ➤ Gloria Crews, a 64-year-old Montgomery grandmother, was shot dead near Virginia Loop Road on Mother’s Day a year ago—police say the killing was gang-related—and no arrest has been made as officials offer a $21,500 reward for tips. WSFA 12
