A celebration for America's 250 Year anniversary is happening today downtown in front of the Capitol building as local residents gather to mark the event.

Montgomery will host several Memorial Day weekend events as locals honor veterans.

The free Jubilee Pops Concert takes place outside the Department of Archives & History downtown while Teen Mayfest occurs at Gunter Pool, the Sun Belt Baseball Championship at Dabos Park, a 5K runs in Pike Road, and the weekly EastChase Farmers Market adds to the festivities.

Montgomery Zoo hosted its annual ZooBrews event Thursday night with beer sampling, food trucks, live music and yard games to support animal conservation efforts.

Attendees enjoyed a lively evening while helping raise funds for wildlife care.

Local gamers 13+ are invited to join the City of Montgomery’s Fortnite Tournament on May 29+ the event offers a chance to compete in fast-paced matches within the community.

Weston Lowery (a McKenzie High School freshman) won the 14th annual Big Gobbler Photo Contest after his photo received over 2,200 online votes.

Fischer Blake Evans and Manning Adams, both aged 8, finished second and third in a contest highlighting local hunting traditions.

South Alabama won a 7-4 game against Georgia State in the Sun Belt baseball tournament Thursday at Dabos Park, capped by Blake Guerin’s three-run homer in the eighth inning.

The Jaguars will face either Troy or Southern Miss at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
