- ➤ St. John’s Episcopal Church will hold its fourth annual 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' event today to honor fallen military servicemembers over Memorial Day weekend. The ceremony begins at 12 p.m. with a short message from Rev. Dr. Duncan Johnston and a Maxwell Air Force Base servicemember speech — community-submitted names will be read aloud as the bell tolls followed by a complimentary barbecue lunch. WSFA 12

- ➤ The Alabama parole board released proposed new guidelines that weigh an inmate’s original crime and behavior more heavily, making parole recommendations tougher.
