ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Three men died and a cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in three separate crashes over the weekend in Montgomery — the first incident involved a vehicle colliding with a bicycle, the second a hit-and-run struck a pedestrian, and the third a two-vehicle collision killed both drivers as investigations continue. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police responded to a hit-and-run on Sunday morning around 1:35 a.m. on Bell Road at Brewbaker Drive in Montgomery—finding a man with fatal injuries and launching an investigation after the vehicle fled the scene. WSFA 12
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City leaders say the Boulevard needs new crosswalks to help pedestrians cross safely. Montgomery District Seven Councilman Andrew Szymanski and local advocates (after a fatal hit-and-run) urged the Alabama Department of Transportation to add these crosswalks soon. WSFA 12
- ➤ Captain Jeremy Burkett of the AL Law Enforcement Agency and Councilman Andrew Szymanski shared tips for safe street crossing as summer begins in Montgomery, urging pedestrians to use crosswalks, look both ways, and choose safe spots when no crosswalk is available.
