CRIME NEWS
- ➤ ALEA warns residents that text messages falsely claiming to be from the Alabama DMV are part of a nationwide phishing scam that threatens a 30-day suspension for non-existent tickets. Officials stress the agency never sends texts asking for personal details or payment and urge residents to delete any suspicious messages immediately. WSFA 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ More than 400 young women took part in the 83rd American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State — a week-long event where high school seniors learned about government by writing bills and debating proposals. They capped the program with a tour of Montgomery yesterday — marking the largest delegation ever to attend the event. WAKA 8
