- ➤ Alabama Dance Theatre will perform its annual 'Stars on the Riverfront' on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.—the free shows will feature food trucks Kona Ice and Funky Forte with the option for attendees to bring their own food. WSFA 12
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Montgomery Education Foundation and SAIL launched SAIL Reads to deliver over 12,000 books at summer camps and online to help students in underserved communities keep reading this summer—this initiative targets book deserts where many low-income families have little or no access to printed materials. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ June is Men’s Health Month and local groups are urging attention to both physical and mental health. Mental Health America in Montgomery holds its Friendship Club regularly, and this Saturday Fathers in Action will join the YMCA for Hoops and Health, offering family activities + free resources. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ All 12 SWAC universities announced they would join the House v NCAA settlement after the 2025 Annual Spring meeting in Destin, Florida—letting teams offer unlimited scholarships up to roster limits. Alabama State University Athletics Director Dr. Jason Cable said his school will evaluate costs before expanding scholarship offers while planning to increase NIL payments in the future. WSFA 12
