CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On June 19, Millbrook Police arrested 39-year-old Terrance Lamons for theft at Walmart in Millbrook, charging him with two counts of organized retail theft & trespass and holding him in Elmore County Jail on a $60,000 bond. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery Police are investigating a shooting downtown Saturday evening—officers responded to the 200 Block of Commerce Street at 11:35 p.m., where multiple shots were fired and damage was done to a vehicle and a building, although no injuries were reported. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery police investigated a shooting around 5:05 p.m. Friday at the 3200 block of Birmingham Highway that critically injured an adult man—he was taken to a local hospital and no suspects have been named. WAKA 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Alabama sent state leaders including Senator Katie Britt and Representative Mike Rogers to the 2025 Paris Air Show to explore multi-million dollar deals with global aerospace and defense companies. The trip showed the state's commitment to an industry that supports over 45,000 jobs and contributes $6 billion in economic activity—boosting the state's role in aviation innovation. WSFA 12
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ During June—Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month—the Alzheimer’s Association is raising awareness about the challenges faced by more than 100,000 locals living with the disease and the over 200,000 caregivers who provide nearly 400 million hours of unpaid care. The group offers support groups and a 24/7 help line to aid patients and caregivers with daily challenges. WSFA 12
