CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two more suspects—24-year-old Daniel Robertson from Millbrook and 18-year-old Jai Paige Mister from Montgomery—were arrested for kidnapping and assault in connection with a June 16 incident on West South Boulevard where police rescued a woman who suffered severe burns and injuries. WAKA 8
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Autauga County schools need local help fixing old buildings and building new ones as Superintendent Lyman Woodfin asked local governments to share costs—with a plan that includes a $150 million new high school designed for military families. He said the poor state of the facilities and growing private school options are pushing families away and making it hard to attract new students. Alabama Daily News
- ➤ The Montgomery Public Schools board held a special called meeting and approved changes to job descriptions and a draft cell phone policy — steps meant to set clearer guidelines for staff roles. The board said these updates will take effect soon. WSFA 12
