- ➤ A Montgomery man, 33-year-old Taboris Ladale Mock, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful firearm possession following a September 28 incident on Wetumpka Highway when he fired at a vehicle that led to a fatality & key evidence such as recovered shell casings. - ➤ A man was hospitalized with a life-threatening gunshot wound after an early morning shooting in east Montgomery on Thursday—police and Fire Medics responded at about 2:45 a.m. near the 1300 block of Eastern Boulevard—and no suspect or motive has been identified. WSFA 12

- ➤ Montgomery City County Public Libraries will host a Back-To-School Bootcamp to help kids prepare for school. The event will start July 7. WSFA 12

- ➤ Montgomery Regional Airport anticipates welcoming more than 1,250 passengers on 28 flights over the holiday weekend. Officials advise travelers to arrive at least 90 minutes early for check-in and security—ensuring a smooth travel experience. WAKA 8
- ➤ Montgomery City Council upheld Mayor Reed’s veto that canceled a plan for a 90-day pause on new licenses for package stores, convenience stores, gas stations and vape shops. Council members voted unanimously Tuesday—citing economic impact and public safety concerns—without debate on whether to amend the resolution later. 1819 News
