- ➤ Montgomery police arrested 22-year-old Dontrez Taylor on Friday and charged him with capital murder and murder for the July 12 linked shootings that killed Malik Benson (27) and Dekeith Whatley (26). AL.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed signed a new youth curfew ordinance that immediately limits minors under 17 from being out alone from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The law lets police issue a warning or a $500 fine for a first offense, a $500 fine for a second, and fines parents $500 with up to 180 days in jail on a third violation—ensuring businesses are less troubled by teens lingering late at night.
