Several organizations are hosting a back-to-school bash today that will offer resources to parents and children.

The event (supported by local groups) aims to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.

University of Maryland Global Campus graduated 6,770 students worldwide in the spring 2025 term.

Local graduates from Montgomery include Franklin Spruill who earned an Associate of Arts, Latoya Jones who earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management, and Tine Akakpo who earned a Master of Science in Management: Intelligence Management.

Montgomery Public Schools announced that longtime WSFA reporters Rosanna Smith and Monae Stevens have been hired as Director of Communications and Marketing and Community Development Manager—both bring solid journalism and communications experience to help the district prepare for the 2025-2026 school year. The appointments aim to improve clear messaging and community engagement in the district.

Hulk Hogan began his wrestling career in Alabama as Terry ‘The Hulk’ Boulder by competing in small towns like New Brockton, Mobile, and Dothan—facing legends such as Andre the Giant and drawing large crowds early on.

His local feuds and media appearances helped set the stage for the rise of Hulkamania later in his career.
