ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery police are investigating a fatal crash in which an adult male pedestrian was struck at 8:14 p.m. Friday near Eastern Boulevard and I-85 — he was pronounced dead at the scene and the vehicle driver was not injured. WAKA 8
- ➤ Montgomery firefighters responded to a house fire at 5:41 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Oak and Ridgecrest streets near I-65 and quickly put out the flames without injury as investigators work to determine the cause. WAKA 8

- ➤ A man was arrested on Friday night in Montgomery after deputies responded to a shooting on Atlanta Highway—19-year-old King Walker was taken into custody at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $90k bond and faces charges of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied building. - ➤ A historical marker has been placed at the old offices of the Southern Courier in Downtown Montgomery to honor its role in covering civil rights events. The marker celebrates the legacy of the paper which once gave voice to stories other news outlets did not cover. WSFA 12
