- ➤ Retired K-9 Pici passed away Saturday, Aug 2 after nearly a 10-month battle with bone cancer—she served with distinction alongside Sr. Trooper Brent Pickle in ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division. - ➤ The Montgomery city council ordered 1048 Jazz + Blues to close at midnight for the next 60 days after complaints about sanitation, alleged drug use, racial harassment, and physical violence. - ➤ Former Justice Jay Mitchell raised about $355,000 in July, including a $100,000 gift from the Business Council of Alabama’s Progress PAC, and now holds about $1.63 million for his run for attorney general in the 2026 race.
