CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery Police arrested 20 year old Najari Mitchell on seven counts of first degree robbery and 23 year old Rayshon Hall on three counts in connection with multiple robberies and placed them in the Montgomery County Detention Center with no bond—and the investigation is ongoing. WAKA 8
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery Public Schools will continue to offer free and reduced-price meals for the 2025-26 school year under the federal Community Eligibility Provision — letting all students get breakfast and lunch without applications. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two GOP candidates for attorney general—Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson—raised over $1.7 million and $1.5 million respectively and are debating the use of dark money versus local funds as they prepare for the May 19 primary. Mitchell, who resigned from the state Supreme Court to run, said his donations came mainly from in-state groups while Robertson highlighted over $1 million from a Nashville nonprofit.
