- ➤ Montgomery police arrested 22-year-old Zachery McQueen after he fired into an officer's vehicle on the night before today—officers returned fire during a brief foot chase and charged him with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and he is now held at the county detention facility. - ➤ On Friday, a federal judge ordered Alabama lawmakers to redraw the state Senate map—including a new majority-Black district near Montgomery—after ruling that the current map lessened Black voters' influence under the Voting Rights Act. Lawmakers will soon propose new lines ahead of the 2026 elections while Gov. Kay Ivey reviews the decision. WSFA 12
