  • Ruth and James Shackleford celebrated 75 years of marriage on Saturday with family gathering to honor a milestone that began when James gave Ruth free ice cream from his truck—raising 12 children and spanning five generations. They shared advice to respect each person’s independence and avoid harm as the key to a lasting bond.  WSFA 12

CRIME NEWS

  • Officers were called at 12:45 a.m. Saturday to a local hospital where they found a Montgomery woman with a gunshot wound near Chase Street and Mount Meigs Road — her injuries were not life-threatening and no suspects have been named.  WAKA 8
  • Montgomery police arrested a man after officers responded to a call that shots were fired near the Cramton Bowl on Friday night—no injuries or property damage were reported.  WAKA 8
  • Montgomery police say a woman was injured by a gunshot wound near Chase Street and Mt. Meigs Road early Saturday morning — her condition was not life-threatening and the investigation continues with no suspect or motive yet known.  WSFA 12
