A new partnership launched a life jacket loaner program to help Montgomery families stay safe on the Alabama River — the program will let families borrow life jackets for their outings on the water.

The Alabama River Foundation teamed with Sea Tow Foundation to launch a free life jacket loaner station at Montgomery Marina behind Capital Oyster Bar so boaters, paddlers, anglers, and families can borrow safety gear before getting on the Alabama River and neighbors can donate gently used life jackets certified by the Coast Guard.
