Community members attended Family Fun Day on the Guardian Championship golf course in Prattville Saturday morning to enjoy free ice cream, games and balloon animals while watching professional golfers compete on the Epson Tour.
Guardian Credit Union hosted the event as part of a long-term partnership with local groups+ the day added extra fun for families during the tournament.
Alabama State defeated Miles College 37-9 in its home opener on September 13th—quarterback Andrew Body threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns while Jalen Jones recorded 118 receiving yards and two scores.
The Hornets gained 407 yards on offense and are now 2-1 as they prepare to face Florida A&M on September 27th.
Tuskegee lost 30-0 in Jackson after being held to 109 yards by Jackson State.
Freshman quarterback Jared Lockhart threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns — with runs of 11 and 6 yards and a 21-yard pass — and Tuskegee will play Benedict on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Columbia.
