EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a meeting in Montgomery, the Alabama Board of Education debated whether juniors should take the ACT—along with the ACT WorkKeys exam—to better measure college and career readiness. Board members also updated a $6.6B FY27 budget request that includes funds for reading support and rising transportation costs, with a final proposal expected soon.  Alabama Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ty Simpson threw for 382 yards and four touchdowns as Alabama beat Wisconsin 38 to 14 on Saturday, with Ryan Williams gathering 165 yards after missing the last game because of a concussion.
