- ➤ September is National Service Dog Month and Service Dogs Alabama honors dogs that help people with medical and mental health needs, including veterans and teenagers. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Ivey announced a working group to advise state leaders on Alabama’s application for a portion of the $50 billion rural health fund, with the state needing to submit a plan by Nov. 5. The 20-member advisory group—made up of state health agencies and key leaders—will meet regularly to guide improvements in rural healthcare. Alabama Daily News

- ➤ Costco recalled over 3,300 pounds of Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke—produced on September 17 with a pack date of September 18 and a sell-by date of September 22—for possible Listeria contamination after a green onion supplier's test found Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects 33 states including Alabama and customers are advised to return the product to Costco for a full refund. AL.com
