- ➤ Chris Townsley, general manager of the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel, joined WSFA's 2025 Day Of Dreams telethon to discuss the hotel's partnership with the MAP Center—other speakers shared plans to support Mercy House and boost local donations. WSFA 12
- ➤ Cathy Caddell, a MAP supporter, spoke on WSFA's 2025 Day of Dreams Telethon today about how she was inspired to help others and now donates $50,000 each year—her gesture supports local efforts—joining other voices that care about the community. WSFA 12

- ➤ Billingsley School broke ground on a $2 million facility to build an Applied Science Livestock Teaching Lab that will give students hands-on experience in animal care and agriscience. - ➤ On Oct 1, Parker’s Law went into effect and lets nursing mothers skip jury duty for 24 months if they show a doctor’s note proving they are breastfeeding—this law was passed quickly after a viral story highlighted a mother’s struggle at the courthouse. WSFA 12
- ➤ Montgomery Regional Airport began a $5 million project on October 2nd to improve the baggage claim area by adding two new baggage systems, modern car rental counters and new escalators. - ➤ Jackson Hospital and Clinic in Montgomery, which has treated patients for almost 80 years, may close within 30 days if it does not secure financial help from local officials—its $2 million in cash cannot cover a $5 million loss each month.
