GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Montgomery City Council approved $15 million in funding Tuesday night to help keep Jackson Hospital open as part of a $50 million rescue package with $10 million from the county and $25 million from the state. City officials said all funds must be committed by the end of the month to keep the hospital making payroll—ensuring it continues to serve the River Region. WAKA 8
- ➤ Montgomery City Council suspended the downtown entertainment district indefinitely—following a mass shooting last weekend and growing safety concerns from local business owners during Tuesday's meeting at City Hall.
