  • Maegan Thompson of The Bad Batch bakery transformed part of her business into an in-home food pantry to help families in the River Region affected by SNAP cuts from the federal shutdown. She is accepting donations of food, canned goods, and toiletries *using repurposed lockers and coolers* to support those in need.  WAKA 8

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Montgomery Regional Airport added United Express service with non-stop flights to Houston that began on April 7 — the new carrier, operated by SkyWest Airlines, aimed to boost both business and leisure travel as explained by interim airport director Loyd Jenkins.  WSFA 12

SPORTS NEWS

  • Faulkner’s homecoming game ended in a 62—9 loss to Campbellsville University of Kentucky on Saturday at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium, with the Tigers scoring early and often while the Eagles managed only a late field goal and touchdown. The Eagles now head into a bye before traveling on Nov. 15 for their final regular season game.  WSFA 12
