COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive is underway as officials at The Shoppes at EastChase (to the left of Books-a-Million) shop at Walmart Supercenter on Chantilly Parkway with Santa and Mrs. Claus present (marking its 7th year) to fill the toy vault for registered families by the Salvation Army of Montgomery. The collected toys will be given to these families just in time for Christmas. WAKA 8
- ➤ The 2025 Coats for Comfort campaign will begin accepting new and gently used coats on November 14th to help children stay warm this winter and will run until December 12 at several drop-off locations (WSFA at 445 Dexter Avenue, Bryan Jewelry, Jim Massey’s Cleaners, and The Salvation Army). - ➤ The Salvation Army’s 2025 Angel Tree program will launch on Nov. 14 and run through Dec. 12, inviting locals to pick an angel at the Shoppes at East Chase, the Weight Clinic, and Pigg Enterprises—organizing gift donations for families in need this Christmas. WSFA 12
- ➤ Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama team members at the Montgomery assembly plant donated over $363,000 to United Ways in Alabama on November 12 — the contributions included $293,000 from employee pledges and an extra $70,000 from the plant to help meet local basic needs. WAKA 8
- ➤ Action 8 has launched its Magical Christmas Toy Drive to benefit the Salvation Army by collecting new, unwrapped toys for local families. The Shoppes at EastChase is hosting the Toy Vault from now through December 10 for donations. WAKA 8
