  • Earlier this week, the University of Alabama suspended two student-run magazines (Nineteen Fifty-Six and Alice) that target Black and female audiences after citing federal DEI guidance; a university spokesperson said a new, broader-scope publication is planned while editors expressed shock.  Alabama Daily News
  • New Schools for Alabama and its coalition partners announced a $20 million investment Thursday to strengthen and create charter schools in under-served communities; the funds will support local projects like D.C.
