Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts hosted its inaugural Kwanzaa family program on the third day of the weeklong Pan-African celebration, drawing a full house and extra chairs as families enjoyed storytelling, music & dance to honor the holiday's values.
The museum hopes to make the program an annual event.

Applications for Alabama’s CHOOSE Act education savings account program open Jan.
2 for families joining for the 2026-27 school year, while current participants may renew their accounts now with all submissions closing March 31. Eligible households can receive up to $7,000 per child for approved education expenses.
