Two men died in a crash at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Hopper Street around 2:45 a.m. Sunday as police identified Martiniano Lopez (55) as the driver and Rigoberto Acagua (23) as the passenger.

Police investigated an early morning shooting that killed a man in Montgomery on June 2 — officials have not released further details yet.

On June 2, the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association launched its Black Belt Road Trip Photo Contest asking locals to upload photos that include a person and capture attractions in the region's 23 counties (selfies and family images are accepted).
