Today, Child Protect hosted its annual Shindig in Montgomery to raise funds for children who have suffered abuse and trauma, collecting about $15,000.

The nonprofit, which has supported local families since 1989, provides free counseling and support to help start healing—Hunter Beck said the funds are vital.

Hundreds of local community members gathered Sunday at Red Bluff Bar near the Alabama River for Child Protect’s annual 'Shindig'—an event raising funds for its Children’s Advocacy Center on South Perry Street to help victims of abuse.

Child Protect will host its Swingin’ Fore Kids Golf Tournament on October 24.
