Winn-Dixie stores in Montgomery and Wetumpka will become Piggly Wiggly Food For Less locations as the company pulls out of Alabama to focus on its Florida operations—Winn-Dixie plans to sell all of its remaining stores in the region by early next year.

Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton said Jackson Hospital is getting $10 million from the county and may receive an extra $25 million from the city council if state and federal partners join to cover over $100 million in repair costs—officials plan to meet on November 5 to discuss next steps.
